A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION SUSPENDING THE DEADLINES FOR THE PURPOSE OF REQUESTING THE DRAFTING, INTRODUCTION, CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE OF A BILL ENTITLED "AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 3-3-7, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO DESIGNATE JUNE 19TH AS AN OFFICIAL STATE HOLIDAY IN RECOGNITION OF JUNETEENTH, COMMEMORATING THE END OF SLAVERY IN THE UNITED STATES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES."
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That Joint Rule 40 of the Senate and the House is hereby suspended for the purpose of requesting the drafting, introduction, consideration and passage, regardless of any deadlines imposed by said rule, of a bill entitled "AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 3-3-7, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO DESIGNATE JUNE 19TH AS AN OFFICIAL STATE HOLIDAY IN RECOGNITION OF JUNETEENTH, COMMEMORATING THE END OF SLAVERY IN THE UNITED STATES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES."
