House Resolution 32

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MAKAYLA JORDAN UPON BEING CROWNED MISS DIXIE NATIONAL 2020.

     WHEREAS, 19-year-old Noxapater, Mississippi, resident and daughter of Rocky and Bridget Jordan, Makayla Jordan is the reigning Miss Dixie National 2020; and

     WHEREAS, a junior agriculture education major at Mississippi State University, where she is a member of the Mississippi State University Rodeo Team, Makayla aspires to make a profound impact in her community by educating youth and, hopefully, the next generation of farmers in local schools throughout the state; and

     WHEREAS, introduced to horses at a very young age, she enjoys riding and competing in her free time, and hanging out on the farm, where she is sure to be entertained by all of her animals; and

     WHEREAS, during her reign as the official representative of the Dixie National Rodeo, Miss Jordan will serve as the spokesperson at a variety of promotional events, in addition to modeling in commercial advertisements for western clothiers, publications, sponsors and other service providers to the western industry; and

     WHEREAS, honored to be afforded the privilege to serve as Miss Dixie National 2020, Makayla looks forward to representing and promoting, not only the sport of rodeo, but the agricultural way of life during her reign; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and honor fine individuals such as Miss Makayla Jordan, a young woman who exudes poise, class and a tender heart, and serves as an asset and wonderful role model to young girls throughout the nation, with her attitude, determination and professionalism:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we commend and congratulate Miss Makayla Jordan, upon being crowned Miss Dixie National 2020, and express deepest wishes for her continued success during her reign, as well as in all her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Miss Makayla Jordan and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
