AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO RANDY BECKHAM, OF SIMPSON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Randy Beckham, of Simpson County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction for the crime of forgery on September 29, 1994, for which he was sentenced to five (5) years probation.  On April 11, 1997, his probation was revoked, and he was sentenced to five (5) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for the violation.  He was also convicted for vehicular manslaughter, and was sentenced on April 11, 1997, to twenty (20) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.  He completed all terms and conditions of his sentence and was discharged on December 21, 2008.  The Legislature is informed that he has since conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
