AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

     SECTION 1.  Section 73-7-12, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

     73-7-12.  (1)  Effective January 1, 2020, the State Board of Cosmetology shall * * *contract with a recognized testing service to conduct terminate its student testing contract with proper notice and shall be authorized to administer and monitor examinations for cosmetologists, estheticians, manicurists and instructors at such times and locations as determined by the * * * contracted testing service State Board of Cosmetology, and may contract for administrators in its discretion.  No member of the board shall be authorized to personally administer the examinations.

(2)  This section shall stand repealed on July 1, 2021.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2019.
