AMENDMENT NO 2 PROPOSED TO

House Bill No. 1547

AMEND on line 239 by deleting the word "and" and inserting the word "and" at the end of line 245.

AMEND FURTHER by inserting the following new subparagraph (vi) after line 245:

              "(vi)  Marijuana that is used for a medical purpose that has been prescribed by a physician licensed in the United States.  For the purpose of this subparagraph (vi), "medical purpose" means the acquisition, possession, use, delivery, transfer or transportation of marijuana or paraphernalia relating to the administration of marijuana to treat or alleviate a patient's medical condition or symptoms associated with the patient's medical condition."

AMEND FURTHER by inserting the following new paragraph (g) after line 619 and re-lettering the succeeding paragraph:

          "(g)  Medical marijuana.  Marijuana that is used for a medical purpose that has been prescribed by a physician licensed in the United States.  For the purpose of this paragraph (g), "medical purpose" means the acquisition, possession, use, delivery, transfer or transportation of marijuana or paraphernalia relating to the administration of marijuana to treat or alleviate a patient's medical condition or symptoms associated with the patient's medical condition."

AMEND FURTHER the title on line 4 by inserting the following language after the semicolon: "TO REMOVE MEDICAL MARIJUANA FROM SCHEDULE I;"

AMEND FURTHER the title on line 9 by inserting the following language after the semicolon: "TO INCLUDE MEDICAL MARIJUANA IN SCHEDULE V;"
