A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND RECOGNIZING MS. PAM CHATMAN FOR CREATING JOBS FOR RESIDENTS IN THE DELTA AND FOR BEING NOMINATED AS ONE OF THE TOP 25 MOST INFLUENTIAL AFRICAN-AMERICAN PEOPLE IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI BY OUR MISSISSIPPI MAGAZINE.

     WHEREAS, Ms. Pam Chatman has partnered with a Fortune 500 company, FedEx Express, to bring job opportunities to the Delta residents and bus them every day from Cleveland, Mississippi, to Memphis, Tennessee, to work, creating economic growth and self-sufficiency to many; and

     WHEREAS, Ms. Chatman has been recognized and honored as one of the Top 25 Most Influential African-Americans in the State of Mississippi and for being a glass ceiling breaker in her community and state by starting her own National and Global Streaming TV Network; and

     WHEREAS, Ms. Pam Chatman is a leader and a trailblazer in the State of Mississippi and the Mississippi Delta.  For her hard work and dedication of educating women on Women Empowerment and why it is important for them to have a seat at the table, Pam is committed to creating, building and promoting economic opportunities in the Mississippi Delta; and

     WHEREAS, she has received national recognition by being recognized by Congress and placed in the Congressional Records of history for tireless commitment to make the Mississippi Delta a place of change and opportunity.  She was also honored with 12 other women from across the United States for her personal and professional achievements at the "Women of Honor 2019" awards event in Atlanta, Georgia; and

     WHEREAS, in addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Chatman is leading the charge in Mississippi as an Ambassador of Coca-Cola Global Initiative:  Coca-Cola 5by20, which is an Empowerment Initiative for women where the headquarters of Coke has validated Boss Lady PChatman as a "Bold Optimistic Successful Sister" (BOSS) Coaching Program an essential to educate, train and network with women from all walks of life in the many resources available to help them become entrepreneurs.  She has partnered with a state organization, "Mississippi Family First," to help families across the state to receive direct services that impact the whole family and provide the tools to be self-sufficient.  Pam has also formed the organization "Boss Lady Crisis Team" consortium in the Delta, where women from all backgrounds have a seat at the table to discuss ways to assist families in breaking the cycle of poverty and health disparities, and to promote economic growth, family sustainability, mentorship, and leadership skills; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend the contributions of Ms. Pam Chatman who is an excellent example for all in the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and recognize Ms. Pam Chatman for creating jobs for residents in the Delta and for being nominated as one of the Top 25 Most Influential African-American People in the State of Mississippi by Our Mississippi Magazine.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Ms. Pam Chatman and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
