A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE 2018 OUR LADY ACADEMY "CRESCENTS" VOLLEYBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THEIR SEVENTH-STRAIGHT VOLLEYBALL CLASS I CHAMPIONSHIP.

     WHEREAS, Our Lady Academy (OLA) "Crescents" Volleyball Team won their seventh consecutive State Championship Game on October 27, 2018; and

     WHEREAS, the game was part of the 2018 Mississippi High School Activities Association Volleyball Championships Class I Tournament.  Our Lady Academy defeated Catholic High School 3-0.  The Crescents won 25-19 in the first match, 25-15 in the second match, and 25-16 in the third match; and

     WHEREAS, the Crescents have proven to be a dominant force in state volleyball.  Congratulations to the Our Lady Academy Volleyball Team on winning the 2018 State Championship; and

     WHEREAS, the Our Lady Academy "Crescents" Championship Volleyball Team Roster is:  Ashley Bulot, OH, S, RS; Camille Cottone, DS, L, OH; Rebecca Walk, MB, OH, DS; Faith Anderson, MB, RS, DS; Margaret White, OH, RS, S; Elizabeth Mirandy, OH, RS, DS; Chloe Cornell, OH, DS, RS; Kate Montjoy, DS, OH, L; Kate Funk, S, DS, L; and Alma Hearin, DS, OH, L; and Coach Mike Meyers; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this special group of student athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the 2018 Our Lady Academy "Crescents" Volleyball Team for winning their seventh-straight Volleyball Class I Championship, and extend to the team, coaches, parents and sponsors our best wishes for future success.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coach Mike Myers and Our Lady Academy Principal Marilyn Pigott, forwarded to the Our Lady Academy Board of Trustees, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
