     AN ACT TO EXEMPT DEPARTMENT OF MARINE RESOURCES RECORDS RELATING TO APPLICATIONS FOR, SALES OF AND HOLDERS OF SEAFOOD LICENSES FROM REQUIREMENTS OF THE MISSISSIPPI PUBLIC RECORDS ACT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The records of the Department of Marine Resources relating to applications for and sales of any resident or nonresident licenses issued under this chapter, and all records relating to holders of such licenses, are exempt from the provisions of the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983, in accordance with Section 25-61-11, and shall be released only upon order of a court having proper jurisdiction over a petition for release of such records.  However, upon request, the records specified in this section shall be available to all law enforcement agencies.

     SECTION 2.  Section 1 of this act shall be codified in Chapter 15, Title 49, Mississippi Code of 1972.

     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2019.
