AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, ACTING ON BEHALF OF THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, TO TRANSFER AND CONVEY CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO THE LEFLORE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Department of Finance and Administration, acting on behalf of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, is authorized to transfer and convey a certain tract or parcel of real property upon which the Leflore County Restitution Center is located.
(2) Before the transfer of the property described in subsection (1) of this section, the Mississippi Department of Corrections and the Leflore County Board of Supervisors must mutually agree to the terms and conditions of the transfer, set forth their agreement in writing and provide such agreement to the Department of Finance and Administration.
(3) The state shall retain all mineral rights in the property.
(4) The Department of Finance and Administration is vested with the authority to correct any discrepancies in the legal description of the property described in subsection (1) of this section.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2019.
