Senate Bill 2547

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE STATE BP SETTLEMENT FUND TO DESOTO COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE HIGHWAY 51 WIDENING PROJECT IN SAID COUNTY, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State BP Settlement Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Board of Supervisors of DeSoto County, Mississippi, for the purpose of paying the costs associated with repairs, widening and resurfacing of Highway 51 from the end of the four-lane to the intersection of Star Landing Road, a distance of approximately one (1) mile located in said county, for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019,

and ending June 30, 2020......................... $ 5,000,000.00

SECTION 2. The expenditure of the funds appropriated by this act shall be under the direction of the Governor and shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2019.
