House Resolution 106

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE 12U LOUISVILLE ALL-STARS DIZZY DEAN SOFTBALL TEAM FOR WINNING BOTH THE 2018 DIZZY DEAN SOFTBALL WORLD SERIES AND THE 2018 MISSISSIPPI STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the 12U Louisville All-Stars Dizzy Dean Softball Team capped off an incredible 2018 year by winning the 2018 Dizzy Dean Softball World Series, thereby repeating as champions after having won the series the year before in 2017, and by winning the 2018 Mississippi State Championship; and

WHEREAS, the 12U Louisville All-Stars were most impressive during their 2018 season with the keys to the team's success being the team spirit and hard work of team members: Ella Brown, Ava Chancellor, Jade Chandler, Lexie Cowart, MaKynlee Dickerson, Gillion Eaves, Natalee Eaves, MyAasia Johnson, Anna Grace Whitehead, Jodie Wilkes and Morgan Woods; and

WHEREAS, during their run to winning the 2018 Dizzy Dean Softball World Series, the team was led by series Most Valuable Player Anna Grace Whitehead and series all-tournament team performers: MaKynlee Dickerson, Natalee Eaves, Jodie Wilkes and Morgan Woods; and

WHEREAS, the 12U Louisville All-Stars have been superbly coached and led by Head Coach Eric Whitehead and Assistant Coaches Jeremy Dickerson, Lee Brown and Tripp Brown, who broadened the team's knowledge of the game and refined the players' skills and execution, helping them reach their potential on the field; and

WHEREAS, through their dedication and hard work, the 12U Louisville All-Stars have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, reflecting greatly upon each of the players and their coaches; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend the accomplishments of Mississippi athletes, especially those such as the 12U Louisville All-Stars whose excellence on the field brings honor to their community and the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the 12U Louisville All-Stars Dizzy Dean Softball Team for winning both the 2018 Dizzy Dean Softball World Series and the 2018 Mississippi State Championship and extend best wishes to the team and its coaches for continued success in all of their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach Eric Whitehead and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
