A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE LOUISVILLE HIGH SCHOOL WILDCATS FOOTBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH M.C. MILLER FOR WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 4A STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Louisville High School Wildcats Football Team and Head Coach M.C. Miller have completed an amazing 15-1 regular season and reigned supreme throughout the playoffs to win the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 4A State Football Championship; and
WHEREAS, the Wildcats, who had a superior season that was driven by more than just the yearning to succeed, intensely amplified all of their hard work, motivation and audacity, which were so apparent all through the season, for the game that ultimately separated the men from the boys to edge out Poplarville and collect the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 4A Football Championship; and
WHEREAS, while the Wildcats ultimately walked away with the trophy after a final score of 25-20, the championship game was a test of their ferocity and stamina, as it consisted of brutal physicality in the trenches and back and forth scores that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the last down was played; and
WHEREAS, striving all season long to be the best 4A football program in the state, Louisville High School put aside the excitement, fanfare and attention to focus on the championship game and prepare as they had throughout the season, and that strategy, along with the monumental support from the entire Louisville community, the booster club, the band and the cheerleaders, helped solidify championship status for the Wildcats; and
WHEREAS, throughout their season of play, the Wildcats faced off with some of the state's best contenders on the gridiron, but persevered to make their presence and talent known as gladiators of football under the Friday night lights, as they beat Kemper County 48-0; Ripley 55-7; Grenada 32-14; Greenwood 21-0; New Hope 54-0; Noxubee County 27-26; Forest 49-3; Kosciusko 46-23; Leake Central 43-0; Byhalia 41-0; Clarksdale 59-0; Pontotoc 56-7 and Greenwood 17-14, proving that their only loss to West Point was obviously an outlier; and
WHEREAS, the Louisville High School Wildcats' statistics were impressive, and there were outstanding performances by individual players, but the key to this team's consistent success has been the constant team atmosphere and year-round hard work; and
WHEREAS, the MHSAA Class 4A State Football Championship Team is comprised of the following talented athletes: Alvius Haynes, Rankevious Johnson, Shemar Eiland, Marcus Glenn, David Haynes, Jehmiah Harden, Elijah Wilkes, Michael Foster, Drea Shumaker, Jace Hudspeth, Charles Moore, Menyon Sanders, Kaleb Mosely, Camden Sanders, Kedarius Dixon, Deonte Yarbrough, Niselbyion Kirk, Billy Houston, Kevon Jackson, Jy'kevious Hibbler, Josiah Goss, Ty Cooper, Jonteavis Garnett, Keandre Gill, Jamarcus Eiland, Derius Hopkins, Shykese Johnson, Kristian Hopkins, TJ Graham, Dequaris Halbert, Kaliyah Coburn, Donovan Hughes, Ashanti Cistrunk, Jaquez Thames, Shontez Thames, A.J. WHEREAS, Head Coach M.C.
