House Resolution 53

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE DISTINGUISHED CAREER AND MERITORIOUS LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE THAT KENNETH E. BRAWNER PROVIDED AS THE ALCORN COUNTY TAX ASSESSOR UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.

WHEREAS, Kenneth E. Brawner, the Alcorn County Tax Assessor

and community leader extraordinaire, is retiring after selflessly dedicating 15 years of illustrious service and competent guidance to the wonderful people of Alcorn County, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, after serving as a field appraiser for the Alcorn County Tax Assessor's office for 15 years beginning in November 1988, Mr. Brawner assumed the role of Alcorn County Tax Assessor with years of invaluable experience under his belt, and he utilized that training and expertise to serve the role of tax assessor with efficiency and effectiveness; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Brawner has attained the highest level of certification possible for an appraiser in the state, General Real Estate Appraiser (GA), and throughout the years, he has been certified as an Assessment Evaluator I, Assessment Evaluator II and Mississippi Assessment Evaluator (MAE); and

WHEREAS, in his spare time, Mr. Brawner enjoys spending time with his wife, Becky, and their three children, Morgan, Jordan and Keb, as well as all types of sports, coaching his children's teams when they were younger and playing in adult softball leagues, and he and his family are faithful members of Oakland Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, after 15 years of service to the people of Alcorn County, retirement will surely leave an insatiable void for governing and mingling with Mississippi's finest in the heart of Kenneth E. Brawner, but he is overjoyed to relax and reflect on the countless number of remarkable people that have touched his life throughout his 15-year career as the Alcorn County Tax Assessor; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend the tireless devotion to the betterment of Mississippi and honor the ardent vow to impeccable public service that Mr. Kenneth E. Brawner, bestowed to the citizens of Mississippi as Alcorn County Tax Assessor:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the distinguished career and meritorious leadership and service that Kenneth E. Brawner provided as the Alcorn County Tax Assessor upon the occasion of his retirement, and extend sincere wishes for continued success and joy in the lighter days ahead.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Kenneth E. Brawner and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
