A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND CONGRATULATING THE AARON E. HENRY HEALTH SERVICES CENTER, INC., UPON ITS 40TH ANNIVERSARY AND FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SERVICE AND DEDICATION TO THE MISSISSIPPI DELTA AND DELTA HILLS COMMUNITIES.
WHEREAS, the Aaron E. Henry Community Health Services Center, Inc., (AEH) is celebrating its 40th year of being the cornerstone of health services for the Mississippi Delta and the surrounding delta hills communities; and
WHEREAS, located in the heart of the agricultural Mississippi Delta, AEH was incorporated on April 27, 1979, in honor of Dr. Aaron E. Henry, an African-American pharmacist who served as a State Representative and civil rights activist from Clarksdale, Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, throughout the past 40 years, the management team and staff at AEH have worked together to develop multiple sites, services and programs designed to alleviate health disparities and barriers to care, and it is recognized for assuring that every citizen of the area it serves has access to high quality, comprehensive health care and related services that are continuously improved and delivered in a respectful and humanitarian spirit, regardless of an individual's financial situation; and
WHEREAS, striving to improve the health of the citizens in the Mississippi Delta and delta hills communities, AEH has increased access to integrated, comprehensive primary and preventative health care, while promoting economic development, and it serves as a catalyst for workforce and economic development by providing accessible transportation and other needed community support services; and
WHEREAS, AEH's philosophy is encompassed in the following principles: caring for others with sensitivity, understanding and concern; providing customers with excellence in care that is continuously improved; valuing patients as worthwhile and capable, and providing assistance and support in a confidential manner with a nonjudgmental attitude; supporting and respecting the contributions, dedication, commitment and hard work of the staff, acknowledging the importance of working together as a team to meet the needs of individuals and families that are served; and assuring a competent, customer service-oriented staff with appropriate education, training and experience, expecting staff to provide care of the highest ethical and moral standard; and
WHEREAS, after 40 years of diligent service, the medical team at AEH continues to address the unique problems faced by those in its community who have often had to go without adequate and quality health care, and it has heard the needs of its people and is continuously striving to meet those needs through the development and implementation of innovative health care strategies aimed at those prevalent health problems burdening its communities; and
WHEREAS, having experienced growth and success throughout the years, AEH is looking forward to its bright future ahead and continued success throughout the communities it serves; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to commend outstanding Mississippi health care institutions, especially those such as the Aaron E. Henry Community Health Services Center, Inc., whose dedication and commitment to its patients brings honor to its community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize and congratulate the Aaron E. Henry Community Health Services Center, Inc., upon its 40th anniversary, and commend the physicians, nurses, staff and administration for their exceptional quality of medical service and for going above and beyond to render the most attentive medical care to each patient that it serves.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Aaron E. Henry Community Health Services Center, Inc., and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
