AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF WARREN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS AND CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS; TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO MATCH ANY PROGRAM OR GRANT FUNDING FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PURPOSES, IF SUCH PROGRAM OR GRANT IS ADMINISTERED BY THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Warren County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to execute contracts and agreements with, and to appropriate, contribute and donate to or expend county general funds for local nonprofit economic development organizations for the purpose of economic development.

     (2)  In addition to the authority granted under subsection (1) of this section, the board is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to match any program or grant funding provided or administered by the State of Mississippi for any and all economic development purposes allowed by such state program or grant funding.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
