House Bill 1707

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDING TO ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE DESIGN AND PLANNING OF RENOVATING THE DAVEY L. WHITNEY HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION COMPLEX OR CONSTRUCTING A NEW ACADEMIC CONVOCATION CENTER INTO THE WHITNEY COMPLEX FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2020.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning for the purpose of providing funding to Alcorn State University for the design and planning of renovating the Davey L. Whitney Health and Physical Education Complex or constructing a new Academic Convocation Center into the Whitney Complex to be known as the Academic Convocation, Health and Physical Education Center for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019, and ending June 30, 2020.................... $ 250,000.00.

SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2019.
