AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF HINDS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE SCOTT FORD HOUSES, TO ASSIST IN THE RESTORATION OF THE HOUSES AND THE CITY OF JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI, IN SUPPORT OF THE JACKSON ZOOLOGICAL PARK; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Hinds County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute an annual amount not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), out of the general funds of the county, to the City of Jackson, Mississippi, to support the Jackson Zoological Park.
(2) In addition to the authority authorized in subsection (1), the Board of Supervisors of Hinds County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute an annual amount not to exceed Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) out of the general funds of the county, to the Scott Ford Houses, Inc., a nonprofit corporation that is restoring the houses, which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Farish Street Historic District.
(3) This section shall be repealed from and after July 1, 2023.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
