House Resolution 8

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE DISTINGUISHED CAREER AND MERITORIOUS LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE THAT MRS. PEGGY OSWALT PROVIDED AS AN INSURANCE AGENT AT RENASANT INSURANCE UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT.

     WHEREAS, Peggy Oswalt, a revered insurance agent, is retiring from Renasant Insurance after dedicating 46 years of exceptional customer service, unparalleled hard work and remarkable expertise to the company; and

     WHEREAS, Weaver Insurance Agency, Inc., now Renasant Insurance, began receiving the benefit of Mrs. Oswalt's determination and undeniable energy in June 1972, when she accepted a job as a confidential secretary for the late L.B. (Bank) Weaver; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Oswalt had just earned her secretarial degree from Holmes Community College when she entered the insurance industry, and since that time, she has provided nothing but the best for her customers and colleagues who had the opportunity to work with her and experience her greatness; and

     WHEREAS, in 1994, Mrs. Oswalt became a licensed insurance agent, and during her tenure, she has enhanced the lives of each of her customers with the competence, efficiency and effectiveness she brought to the office; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Oswalt truly enjoyed her role as insurance agent extraordinaire, servicing the needs of her customers and making sure that each one had the best plan that was tailored to meet their individual needs, and her retirement will undoubtedly be felt throughout the entire Choctaw insurance community; and

     WHEREAS, throughout her career, Mrs. Oswalt has received unwavering support from her loving husband of 46 years, Mr. David Oswalt, her two daughters, Lewanda Morse and Cynthia Hood, and her grandchildren, Emily and Allie Morse and Jonah and Owen Hood; and

     WHEREAS, after 46 years of phenomenal service with Renasant Insurance, retirement will surely leave an insatiable void in the heart of Mrs. Peggy Oswalt for serving, assisting, and ensuring that her fellow Mississippians are protected in the event of disaster, but she is overjoyed to spend quality time with her family and reflect on the countless number of remarkable people that have touched her life throughout her 46-year career with Renasant Insurance; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Oswalt was an exemplary insurance agent to the people of Choctaw County, Mississippi, and her knowledge, skill and strenuous laboriousness will be dearly missed by all of her colleagues and customers; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and honor fine Mississippians, especially those such as Mrs. Peggy Oswalt, whose tireless devotion to the betterment of Renasant Insurance and ardent vow to impeccable customer service have brought glory and honor to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the distinguished career and meritorious leadership and service that Mrs. Peggy Oswalt provided as an insurance agent at Renasant Insurance upon the occasion of her retirement, and extend to her sincere wishes for continued success and joy in the lighter days ahead.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Peggy Oswalt and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
