Senate Concurrent Resolution 562

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION TO EXTEND THE RECOGNITION OF THE MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE TO GENERAL MANAGER KIM CRUMBIE AND BALDWYN SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT JASON MCKAY AND THE MEN AND WOMEN OF AUTO PARTS MANUFACTURING MISSISSIPPI (APMM) FOR SUPPORTING THE FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND TOYOTA CERTIFIED DOJO AT THE BALDWYN CAREER ADVANCEMENT CENTER.

     WHEREAS, many people and organizations were involved in the promotion and development of the new Career and Advancement Center at Baldwyn High School under the leadership of Baldwyn School Superintendent Jason McKay and the Director of the Baldwyn Career and Advancement Center Mr. Danny Ramsey.  In collaboration with Auto Parts Manufacturing Mississippi (APMM), one-half of the building is geared toward advanced manufacturing training, and the other half of the building will focus on furniture manufacturing.  The goal is to prepare students to build Toyota Corollas and the parts used in their manufacture; and

     WHEREAS, Auto Parts Manufacturing Mississippi (APMM) believed it was incumbent upon them to take a leadership role in training the next generation of manufacturing workers.  General Manager Kim Crumbie stated, "It is a part of the corporate social responsibility as a manufacturer to help students.  They have a product to sell in the community, they need people to help build the product, and we have a debt to these citizens to train them and show value to them"; and

     WHEREAS, the Baldwyn Career Advancement Center is the first-of-its-kind Toyota Certified Dojo in the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby extend the recognition of the Mississippi Legislature to the following Auto Parts Manufacturing Mississippi (APMM) team members who assisted Baldwyn School Superintendent Jason McKay and the citizens of Baldwyn, Mississippi, to initiate, develop, create and sustain a curriculum for the 2017-2018 Baldwyn Career Advancement Center in developing careers in a flourishing new industry in Mississippi:  Kim Crumbie, Manufacturing General Manager; Terri Manning, Human Resources Manager; Rita McGee, Dojo Team Leader; Melissa Carr, Dojo Team Leader; Brad Shelton, Dojo Specialist; Sandra Floyd, Dojo Team Leader; Shana Rakestraw, Dojo Team Leader; Tammy Webb, Dojo Manager; Sean Gambles, Tool & Dye Group Leader; James Fowlkes, Maintenance Group Leader; Eric Tubbs, Maintenance Team Member; Chad Strickland, Maintenance Team Leader; Eric Ozbirn, Maintenance Team Leader; Tim Yates, Maintenance Manager; Dewon Snow, Production Team Member; Gary Gates, Production Manager; Farrah Warren, Production Manager; Keyonda Gardner, Human Resources Specialist; Darius McGuirt, Production Team Leader; Rodney Neiman, Production Engineering Manager; Anthony Sykes, Production Engineering Assistant Manager; Hagen Bray, Production Engineering Specialist; Jonathan Burley, Production Engineering Specialist; Stacey Jennings, Production Engineering Specialist; and Tabitha Davenport, Production Engineering Specialist.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to the named honorees and forwarded to the Auto Parts Manufacturing Mississippi (APMM), the Baldwyn School Board, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
