AN ACT TO REENACT AND AMEND CHAPTER 901, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 2015, TO EXTEND UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2019, THE REPEAL DATE ON THE PROVISION OF LAW THAT AUTHORIZES THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF DESOTO COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO DONATE FUNDS AND IN-KIND DONATIONS AND SUPPORT TO THE DESOTO COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL, INC.; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Chapter 901, Local and Private Laws of 2015, is reenacted and amended as follows:
Section 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of DeSoto County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute money from any available funds and to provide in-kind donations and support, which may include donating real and personal property and providing personnel, equipment and other support and services, to the DeSoto County Economic Development Council, Inc., in an amount not to exceed Twenty-five Million Dollars ($25,000,000.00) upon such terms the board deems to be in the best interest of the county, for the purposes of furthering economic development projects.
(2) This section shall be
repealed from and after December 31, * * * 2019.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
