AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A PORTION OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 1 IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS "SONNY MERIDETH THE LEGEND HIGHWAY"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) That portion of Mississippi Highway 1 in Washington County, Mississippi, that extends one (1) mile north and one (1) mile south of the intersection of Mississippi Highway 1 and James Crossing Road is designated and shall be known as "Sonny Merideth The Legend Highway."
(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the portion of highway described in subsection (1) of this act.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2018.
