House Resolution 64

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING DR. SAMUEL PIEH AND DR. CLARA DENESE JOHNSON PIEH UPON THE OCCASION OF THEIR 40TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY.

WHEREAS, on March 23, 2018, Dr. Samuel H. Pieh and Dr. Clara Denese Johnson Pieh will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in Itta Bena, Mississippi, a truly momentous anniversary that signifies a lifetime of love and commitment to one another; and

WHEREAS, Samuel and Clara became Mr. and Mrs. Pieh, bone of one another's bone and flesh of one another's flesh, after exchanging the vows of holy matrimony 40 years ago, on March 25, 1978, and since the day they said "I do," the passionate, selfless love shared between the two soulmates has rivaled the tender, boundless love described in great, romantic literary classics; and

WHEREAS, throughout their marriage, Drs. Samuel and Clara Pieh have found a lasting and wonderful friendship, raised a beautiful family, and built a lasting marriage, all while experiencing heartache, laughing uncontrollably and ultimately growing closer together, and their love and adoration for one another inspires every couple that crosses their affectionate path to treat their partner with respect, support each other's goals and ambitions and most importantly, to love unconditionally; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and celebrate the marital relationships of fine Mississippians, especially those such as Dr. Samuel Pieh and Dr. Clara Pieh, who inspire the Itta Bena community with their unceasing, enduring love and respect for one another after 40 years of marriage and bring honor to the great State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Dr. Samuel Pieh and Dr. Clara Denese Johnson Pieh upon the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary and express best wishes in all of their future endeavors.
