A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING DR. AILEAN STINGLEY UPON BEING ELECTED TO THE NATIONAL BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST, INC.
WHEREAS, Dr. Ailean Stingley is a dedicated and accomplished servant leader for the Church of God In Christ, faithfully serving in various capacities in the national, jurisdiction, district and local departments of the church for the past 20 years; and
WHEREAS, she is a member of the Liberal Trinity Church of God In Christ located in the Mississippi Southern First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction in Jackson, Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Stingley was elected to the National Board of Trustees of the Church of God In Christ on November 13, 2012, making her the only female to be elected for the Deep Southern Region of the United States to serve as a National Trustee; and
WHEREAS, she is the only female elected and assigned to a subcommittee of the National Board of Trustees and she has been appointed to the position of Vice Chair of Properties from the Deep Southern Region; and
WHEREAS, the National Board of Trustees is comprised of members in good standing elected by the General Assembly of the general church to direct the business affairs of the general church comprised of over 6,000,000 members worldwide; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Ailean Stingley is the wife of Attorney Tom Stingley and the mother of one son, Ian Stingley; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Stingley received a doctorate in oral medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in 1991 and a master of public health, healthcare administration from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1994; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Stingley personifies all the positive attributes of faith, dedication, determination and love for her church, family, profession and community; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by such exemplary accomplishments as achieved by Dr. Ailean Stingley:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Dr. Ailean Stingley upon her election to the National Board of Trustees of the Church of God In Christ, Inc.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be furnished to Dr. Ailean Stingley and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
