AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A CERTAIN PORTION OF THE ESCATAWPA RIVER IN GEORGE AND JACKSON COUNTIES AS A STATE SCENIC STREAM AND TO INCLUDE DESIGNATED PORTION OF THE RIVER IN THE STATE SCENIC STREAMS STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  In accordance with Section 51-4-7, the Escatawpa River from the Alabama-Mississippi state line in George County to its confluence with the Pascagoula River in Jackson County which was designated as eligible for nomination to the state Scenic Streams Stewardship Program under Section 51-4-21.6, is designated as a state scenic stream and is included in the State Scenic Streams Stewardship Program.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
