House Amendments to Senate Bill No. 3224

 

TO THE SECRETARY OF THE SENATE:

 

  THIS IS TO INFORM YOU THAT THE HOUSE HAS ADOPTED THE AMENDMENTS SET OUT BELOW:

 

 

AMENDMENT NO. 1

 

     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 


     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Clay County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to revoke any ad valorem tax exemption that it granted pursuant to Section 27-31-101 et seq., if the facility to which the exemption applies is closed.

     SECTION 2.  The governing authorities of the City of West Point, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to revoke any ad valorem tax exemption that it granted pursuant to Section 27-31-101 et seq., if the facility to which the exemption applies is closed.

     SECTION 3.  This act shall stand repealed from and after September 30, 2007.

     SECTION 4.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.


     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 


     AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CLAY COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AND THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF WEST POINT, MISSISSIPPI, TO REVOKE CERTAIN AD VALOREM TAX EXEMPTIONS GRANTED BY THEM IF THE FACILITY TO WHICH THE EXEMPTION APPLIES IS CLOSED; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
