House Amendments to Senate Bill No. 3108

 

TO THE SECRETARY OF THE SENATE:

 

  THIS IS TO INFORM YOU THAT THE HOUSE HAS ADOPTED THE AMENDMENTS SET OUT BELOW:

 

 

AMENDMENT NO. 1

 

     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 


     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Tunica County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may contribute from any available county fund, an amount not to exceed an amount equal to the avails of one and one-half (1-1/2) mills during calendar year 2008, to the Tunica County Museum, Inc., a Mississippi not-for-profit corporation.

     The funds provided to the Tunica County Museum, Inc., under this section shall be used for the operation and maintenance of a public museum in Tunica County, Mississippi, including, but not limited to, the acquisition of land, and operation and maintenance of a museum facility and related exhibits in such facility.

     (2)  The provisions of this act shall be repealed on December 31, 2011.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after June 1, 2007.


     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 


     AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TUNICA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE TUNICA COUNTY MUSEUM, INC., FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING AND MAINTAINING A PUBLIC MUSEUM IN TUNICA COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
