A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL ATTACHÉ SHOW CHOIR UPON ITS 2007 OUTSTANDING COMPETITION SEASON.

     WHEREAS, the Attaché Show Choir from Clinton High School in Clinton, Mississippi, has gained national recognition and achieved unparalleled success as the premier show choir in the country for its outstanding winning tradition; and

     WHEREAS, since 1992, the award winning Attaché Show Choir has been under the direction of David and Mary Fehr who provide a remarkable example of dedication, professionalism and innovation; and

     WHEREAS, since 1992, Attaché has won 49 Grand Championships out of 54 competitions attended during that time; and

     WHEREAS, during the last 21 consecutive competitions, Attaché has captured Grand Champion titles and, therefore, has the longest Grand Champion winning streak of any show choir in the nation and the longest such streak in the history of show choirs; and

     WHEREAS, the 2007 Attaché Show Choir is comprised of 43 singers/dancers, 13 pit members, and 15 crew members, who represent some of Mississippi's finest young people; and

     WHEREAS, the instrumental pit is under the direction of Robert Allen, and the crew is under the direction of Deborah Morgan; and

     WHEREAS, the Attaché Show Choir has just completed its 2007 competition season by receiving Grand Champion honors at the South Central Classic in Homewood, Alabama, on February 17, 2007; the Enterprise Invitational at Enterprise High School in Enterprise, Alabama, on February 24, 2007; and the Crystal Classic at Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Ohio, on March 3, 2007; and

     WHEREAS, during the 2007 competition season, Attaché also captured many caption awards including:  Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Pit, Best Crew, Best Overall Effect, Best Costumes and Best Sets; and

     WHEREAS, Attaché was honored to be selected for the last several years to be the host choir for the Show Choir Nationals Competition held on March 15-17, 2007, at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee; and

     WHEREAS, the 2007 Senior Class of Attaché is undefeated having earned Grand Champion honors at every competition at which they competed in the last three years; and

     WHEREAS, it with great pride that we recognize the contributions of this national and internationally known musical group which has brought honor to its schools, community and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Clinton High School Attaché Show Choir upon its 2007 Competition Season, and extend to the membership of the Choir the best wishes of the Senate on its future success.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be furnished to the Clinton High School Attaché Show Choir, the Clinton News, and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
