Senate Resolution 20

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING BETH M. RILEY OF MANTACHIE, MISSISSIPPI, UPON THE OCCASION OF HER INSTALLATION AS 2007-2008 GOVERNOR OF THE MISSISSIPPI DISTRICT PILOT INTERNATIONAL.

     WHEREAS, Beth M. Riley of Mantachie, Mississippi, will be installed as Governor of the Mississippi District Pilot International on April 21, 2007, in Vicksburg, Mississippi.  She will serve from July 1, 2007, until June 30, 2008.  There are 22 clubs in the Mississippi District; and

     WHEREAS, Pilot International was organized in 1921 in Macon, Georgia.  Today there are approximately 460 clubs in 6 countries; and

     WHEREAS, Pilot International is a distinguished group of caring individuals whose primary goals are friendship and service, and the mission is to improve the quality of life in communities throughout the world.  Pilot International's service focus is brain-related disorders and disabilities; and

     WHEREAS, Beth M. Riley has been a member of the Pilot Club of Mantachie, Mississippi, for 20 years.  She is a 6th Grade Math Teacher at Mantachie Elementary School and very active in her church and community; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this Mississippi citizen whose civic and charitable dedication for a worthwhile cause is a model of selfless service to her community and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mrs. Beth M. Riley of Mantachie, Mississippi, upon the occasion of her installation as 2007-2008 Governor of the Mississippi District Pilot International, and extend to her and her family the best wishes of the Mississippi Senate on this auspicious occasion.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Mrs. Riley and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
