Senate Resolution 4

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING C.R. (BOB) RIDGWAY OF JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS INDUCTION INTO THE MISSISSIPPI REALTOR HALL OF FAME.

WHEREAS, Bob Ridgway has been inducted into the Mississippi Realtor Hall of Fame based on lifelong achievement and service to the real estate profession and the Realtor organization; and

WHEREAS, in his more than 30 years of involvement with the REALTOR organization, C.R. "Bob" Ridgway IV, GRI, CCIM has demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and leadership at both the local and state level. Bob has been instrumental in the development of commercial education and programming for Mississippi Association of Realtors' members statewide, playing an integral role in the development of MAR's Commercial Investment Division, the Mississippi Commercial Association of REALTORS and the Mississippi Chapter of CCIM. His participation has been critical to the success of these organizations, and his encouragement of real estate professionals has been important in helping many of those practitioners succeed in their commercial real estate careers; and

WHEREAS, he served as 1984 Mississippi Association of Realtors President, chaired the association's political action committee trustees and has served on numerous committees. He is a former President of the Jackson Association of Realtors; and

WHEREAS, Bob's other professional affiliations and community service positions include: Greater Jackson Apartment Association, President; Metro Jackson YMCA Board of Directors; Metro Jackson YMCA Vice President and President; YMCA of the USA, Southeast Region, Board of Directors, Vice Chair; YMCA South Field Committee, Chair; YMCA of the USA, Board of Directors, Executive Committee; YMCA of the USA Board of Trustees, Chair; Galloway United Methodist Church: Sunday School Teacher; Men's Club, President; Chancel Choir; Hand Bell Choir; Building Committee (Chaired twice); Communications Committee, Co-Chair; lay leader; and Administrative Board, Chair; Mississippi Conference United Methodist Church, member; North Jackson Rotary Club: Treasurer (twice), Vice President, President and Paul Harris Fellow/Benefactor; Jackson Academy, board member; Millsaps College, Trustee; Mission Mississippi, Board of Directors, Treasurer; Youth Basketball and Soccer Coach; Eagle Scout; and Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop 18 (23 Scouts, 15 Eagles); and

WHEREAS, Bob's family is wife, Naomi, and four children, Frances Ray, Sara Lokey, Julia and Robert V; the couple has two grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the civic contributions of this statewide leader in his profession:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate C.R. (Bob) Ridgway of Jackson, Mississippi, upon the occasion of his induction into the Mississippi Realtor Hall of Fame, and extend to him and his family our best wishes in their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Bob Ridgway and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
