Senate Concurrent Resolution 528

(As Adopted by Senate)

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING RONNY F. FORE, DIRECTOR OF PRINTING FOR THE MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE, AS RECIPIENT OF THE 2006 DON BAILEY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD GIVEN BY THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT PUBLISHING ASSOCIATION.

WHEREAS, the Don Bailey Achievement Award is an award that is given to someone who exemplifies excellence, commitment, dedication and service in the field of government publishing.  Although there were many qualified and exemplary candidates for this award, one stood out above all the rest.  The 2006 recipient for the Don Bailey Achievement Award is our own Ronny F. Fore, Director of Legislative Printing for the Mississippi Legislature; and

WHEREAS, Ronny Fore graduated from Central High School in Jackson, Mississippi, and from Belhaven College in Jackson with a degree in Business.  He has worked in the Legislative Printing Operations for the State of Mississippi for the past 34 years.  He was named the Director of Legislative Printing in 2002.  Ronny is married to the former Peggy L. Manning; and

WHEREAS, Ronny was nominated by his fellow employees for the efforts he put forth with the logistical arrangements for the 2005 National Government Publishing Association Conference that was supposed to have taken place in Biloxi, Mississippi.  All of Fore's efforts were washed away when Hurricane Katrina moved on shore just three short weeks before the conference was to have taken place.  Ronny did what he could to relocate the conference while shuffling friends and relatives around in the dark during the first two weeks after Katrina.  In addition to the recovery efforts, he spent countless hours soliciting door prizes, bag stuffers and sponsors for the relocated and rescheduled conference.  He showed his hospitality at every turn; and

WHEREAS, Ronny has been involved in the National Government Publishing Association for a number of years and is now serving his second term as Southern Regional Director; and

WHEREAS, Ronny Fore is a valued legislative employee who has dedicated his career and many late hours of service to the Mississippi Legislature, and for this selfless service a grateful Legislature thanks him:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ronny F. Fore, Director of Printing for the Mississippi Legislature, as recipient of the 2006 Don Bailey Achievement Award given by the National Government Publishing Association, and extend to him and his family our best wishes as he continues his dedicated service to the State of Mississippi.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Ronny Fore, be transmitted to the National Government Publishing Association and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
