AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TUNICA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE TUNICA COUNTY MUSEUM, INC., FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING AND MAINTAINING A MUSEUM IN TUNICA COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Tunica County, Mississippi, is hereby authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute, from any available county funds, an amount not to exceed an amount equal to the avails of one and one-half (1-1/2) mills during calendar year 2008, to the Tunica County Museum, Inc.

     The funds provided to the Tunica County Museum, Inc., pursuant to this section shall be used for the operation and maintenance of a public museum in Tunica County, Mississippi, including, but not limited to, the acquisition of land and the operation and maintenance of the museum facility and exhibitions in such facility.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after June 1, 2007.
