AN ACT TO CREATE THE MISDEMEANOR OF OBSTRUCTING OR IMPEDING THE OFFICIAL OPERATIONS OF A COUNTY TAX ASSESSOR; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. If any person shall unlawfully obstruct or impede by any act of force or violence, or by any means of intimidation, the regular operation and conduct of the official business of any county tax assessor or designated employee of a county tax assessor, such person shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be committed to the custody of the county for a term of not more than one (1) year or fined One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), or both.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2007.
