AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 75-75-123, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO EXEMPT CERTAIN AMATEUR BOXING MATCHES FROM REGULATION OF THE MISSISSIPPI ATHLETIC COMMISSION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 75-75-123, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
75-75-123. The following shall be exempt from the jurisdiction of the commission:
(a) Boxing, sparring and wrestling matches in colleges, universities or high schools that are permitted and supervised by the governing body of the high school, college or university; and
(b) Amateur boxing matches sanctioned and supervised by USA Boxing, formerly known as the United States Amateur Boxing Federation.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2007.
