AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY, UPON CONSULTATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, TO SUBLEASE ANY AVAILABLE SPACE IN CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE "GM&O PASSENGER DEPOT" TO CERTAIN NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FOR A TERM AGREED UPON BETWEEN THE PARTIES; TO AUTHORIZE FUTURE SUBLEASE AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY AND OTHER NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS UPON THE EXPIRATION OF THE ORIGINAL SUBLEASE TERM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  After consulting with the Department of Finance and Administration, the Mississippi Department of Archives and History may sublease any available space within the property known as the "GM&O Passenger Depot," located directly behind the Charlotte Capers Building, to the Mississippi Heritage Trust and the Mississippi Main Street Association for a term agreed upon by the Department of Archives and History and said not-for-profit organizations.

     (2)  Upon the expiration of the sublease term between the Department of Archives and History and the Mississippi Heritage Trust and the Mississippi Main Street Association, the Department of Archives and History may sublease any available space to any not-for-profit organization for a term specified by the Department of Archives and History.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
