AN ACT TO DIRECT THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING TO PROHIBIT ANY UNIVERSITY OR UNIVERSITY OFFICIAL FROM CHARGING A FEE FOR HANDICAPPED PARKING AT ANY ATHLETIC OR OTHER EXTRACURRICULAR EVENT; TO DIRECT THE STATE BOARD FOR COMMUNITY AND JUNIOR COLLEGES TO PROHIBIT ANY COLLEGE OR COLLEGE OFFICIAL FROM CHARGING A FEE FOR HANDICAPPED PARKING AT ANY ATHLETIC OR OTHER EXTRACURRICULAR EVENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning is hereby directed to prohibit any university under its jurisdiction or any university official from charging a fee or other assessment to a physically handicapped person for using reserved handicapped parking spaces at any athletic or other extracurricular event.

     SECTION 2.  The State Board for Community and Junior Colleges is hereby directed to prohibit any college under its jurisdiction or any college official from charging a fee or other assessment to a physically handicapped person for using reserved handicapped parking spaces at any athletic or other extracurricular event.

     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
