House Resolution 136

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REVEREND JACK EZELL ON HIS FORTIETH ANNIVERSARY AS THE PASTOR OF THE TUPELO CHURCH OF GOD.

     WHEREAS, Reverend Jack Ezell was born June 1, 1936, to Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Ezell in Carroll County, Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, Reverend Ezell was ordained in the ministry in July 1961; and

     WHEREAS, Reverend Ezell was ordained in the Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee, by Dr. Ray H. Hughes, the General Overseer, on April 17, 1972; and

     WHEREAS, Reverend Ezell moved to Tupelo, Mississippi, on July 4, 1965, and organized the Tupelo Church of God in June 1967 with six members; and

     WHEREAS, under Reverend Ezell's spiritual leadership, the Tupelo Church of God now has over 600 members; and

     WHEREAS, a loving husband and father, Reverend Ezell is married to Bobbie Dean Lee Ezell, and they are the proud parents of three children, Grant Jerome, Terry Eugene and Jacqueline LaDean and several grandchildren; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the great citizens of the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Reverend Jack Ezell on his fortieth anniversary as the Pastor of the Tupelo Church of God.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Reverend Jack Ezell, the Tupelo Church of God and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
