House Resolution 127

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE ROBERT VINCE FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

     WHEREAS, Representative Robert Vince has served the citizens of House District 99, which includes Marion and Walthall Counties, for 20 years; and

     WHEREAS, Robert Vince was reelected in 2003 and has served Pike, Lamar, Marion and Walthall for four years; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Vince, a resident of Sandy Hook, Mississippi, was born December 19, 1930; and

     WHEREAS, since his inaugural legislative term in 1980, Representative Vince has provided his constituents and the citizens of the State of Mississippi with extraordinary leadership and a strong commitment to excellence; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Vince's leadership abilities and high moral character were recognized when he was appointed Chairman of the Ethics Committee in 1996; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Vince currently serves the House as a member of the Appropriations, Education, Corrections, Transportation, Congressional Redistricting and Legislative Reapportionment Committees; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Vince has been lovingly supported in all of his endeavors by his beautiful wife, Mary; their children, Kim and Melody; four grandchildren, Brandi, Lisa, Kristin and Bo; and great-grandchild, Connor; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Vince's congenial nature, constructive attitude and forthright manner have had a positive influence on all those who have had the pleasure of working with this highly respected member of the House:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and express deepest appreciation to Representative Robert Vince for his many outstanding contributions to the legislative process and the people of the State of Mississippi and extend heartiest wishes for continued success in all of his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Vince and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
