House Resolution 48

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF MRS. NAREATHA WOULLARD NAYLOR AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HER PASSING.

WHEREAS, Nareatha Woullard Naylor, the youngest child of the late Reverend and Mrs. Ralph W. Woullard, Sr., in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 18, 2007, causing great sorrow and loss to her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Naylor attended Hattiesburg Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri, whereafter she began working for her father's business, Century Funeral Home and managed his Trade School in Brookhaven, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, a 20-year veteran educator, Mrs. Naylor was employed with the Hattiesburg Public School System, having taught at Mary Bethune, Thames and Camp Elementary Schools; and

WHEREAS, she later moved to Jackson, where she managed her sister's business, Deluxe Cab Company and served as President of Woullard Enterprise; and

WHEREAS, though she has traversed the rivers of life to now stand on golden heavenly shores, the legacy of her memory will continue to thrive in the lives and hearts of those she knew and loved her best, her survivors: daughter, Frances Naylor Johnson; sons, Walley Naylor and Wendell Naylor; grandson, Carlos Howard; two granddaughters, Timothea and Elizabeth Naylor; great-grandson, Carlos Ramsey; sister, Alice Ruth Dean; sister-in-law, Annette Woullard; uncle, Clint Baldwin; and a host of other relatives and friends; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the life of such giving and caring individuals as Mrs. Naylor, whose life was a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life and legacy of Mrs. Nareatha Woullard Naylor and express deepest sympathy to her family and friends upon her passing.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Mrs. Nareatha Woullard Naylor and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
