A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING REX BUCKHAULTS UPON BEING NAMED ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR FOR PERRY COUNTY SCHOOLS.

     WHEREAS, Mr. Rex Buckhaults, the Vocational Director at Perry County Vocational Technical Center in New Augusta, Mississippi, was recently selected as Perry County Administrator of the Year; and

     WHEREAS, a graduate of Jones County Junior College and Mississippi State University, Mr. Buckhaults, who earned his administration certification from William Carey College and his education specialist degree from Mississippi State University, has been an administrator for Perry County Schools for the past 15 years; and

     WHEREAS, the Vo-Tech staff of Perry County Vocational Technical Center, which serves Perry Central High School and Richton High School honored Mr. Buckhaults with a plaque for his outstanding leadership, dedication and accomplishments to the center; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Frederick Jackson, Chairman of the Perry County Board of Education, along with members of the board, expressed their appreciation for Mr. Buckhaults' work, which entailed the construction of a new addition to the Vo-Tech Center in 2005 created by Mr. Buckhaults; and

     WHEREAS, during his tenure, he has exemplified outstanding service to the school system in overseeing the rebuilding and repairs needed after Hurricane Katrina; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence in educational administrators such as Mr. Buckhaults, whose accomplishments and commitments and dedication to the students have made him worthy of this honor which he has received:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Rex Buckhaults upon being named Administrator of the Year for Perry County Schools and express our warmest wishes for continued success in all of his future endeavors as he continues to mold and cultivate the minds and lives of our state's youth, who are its future.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Buckhaults, the Perry County School Board and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
