A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION SUSPENDING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF JOINT RULE NO. 40 FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE FURTHER CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE OF ANY APPROPRIATION BILLS AND REVENUE BILLS THAT DIED AS A RESULT OF CONFERENCE REPORTS ON THOSE BILLS NOT HAVING BEEN FINALLY ADOPTED OR MOTIONS TO RECONSIDER ON THOSE CONFERENCE REPORTS NOT BEING DISPOSED OF IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEADLINES OR PROVISIONS OF JOINT RULE NO. 40.

     BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That the deadlines in Joint Rule No. 40 that require final adoption of conference reports on appropriation and revenue bills on the 84th day of a 90-day session and that require motions to reconsider conference reports on appropriation and revenue bills to be disposed of on the 85th day of a 90-day session, including the provisions of Joint Rule No. 40 that require original action to be taken on all appropriation conference reports by 2:00 p.m. on the 84th day and subsequent appropriation conference reports to be filed no later than 6:00 p.m. on that same day, and the provision of Joint Rule No. 40 that requires conference reports to be filed with the Secretary of the Senate and the Clerk of the House no later than the time of adjournment on the day prior to being called up and considered, are suspended for the purpose of permitting the further consideration and passage of any appropriation bills and revenue bills that died as a result of conference reports on those bills not having been finally adopted or motions to reconsider on those conference reports not having been disposed of in accordance with the deadlines or provisions of Joint Rule No. 40.
