House Concurrent Resolution 35

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE CAREER AND DEDICATED SERVICE OF TRUETT ROBERTSON, AND CONGRATULATING HIM UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS.

WHEREAS, since March 10, 1978, Truett Robertson has diligently served the citizens of Mississippi and Neshoba County as he carried out his duties as a conservation officer and conservation officer supervisor with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks until his retirement on June 30, 2006, ending 28 years of exemplary service; and

WHEREAS, rising through the ranks, Mr. Robertson obtained the rank of lieutenant, which resulted in a promotion to District 4 Conservation Officer Supervisor, overseeing officers from Scott, Lauderdale, Kemper, Newton and Neshoba Counties; and

WHEREAS, throughout his career he supervised personnel from the Fisheries, Wildlife and Law Enforcement Bureaus and garnered the respect of his colleagues, who held him in high esteem for his open mind and fair administration of policies of the agency; and

WHEREAS, for the 28 plus years of service and dedication Mr. Robertson has rendered to the people and sportsmen of East Central Mississippi, he has set the standard by which any who follow will be challenged; and

WHEREAS, supervising ten law enforcement personnel at the time of his retirement in June, Mr. Robertson's abilities to bridge the gaps and personalities of the people he served will long be remembered in District 4; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to commend the remarkable service and extreme dedication of state employees of Mr. Robertson's caliber, whose zealous commitment to his fellowman has gained him great respect and distinction:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Truett Robertson on the occasion of his retirement from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks after more than 28 years of service and express warmest wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Truett Robertson and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
