House Bill 1824

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MADISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO EMPLOY THE ELECTED COUNTY ATTORNEY ON A FULL-TIME BASIS AND TO PROVIDE THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT THAT THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY MAY BE COMPENSATED; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Madison County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to employ the elected county prosecuting attorney on a full-time basis during his or her term of office and may pay compensation to the full-time prosecuting attorney in an amount of not more than ninety percent (90%) of the annual compensation and salary of the county court judges of the county as authorized by law.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
