House Bill 1780

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TUNICA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO MID-STATE OPPORTUNITY, INCORPORATED; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Tunica County, Mississippi, may contribute, in its discretion, from any available county fund, an amount not to exceed Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($450,000.00) during fiscal year 2008, to Mid-State Opportunity, Incorporated, a Mississippi nonprofit corporation that operates various programs in Tunica County, including a summer youth program, an energy assistance program for the elderly, disabled and low income and various services to the needy citizens of Tunica County.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after June 1, 2007.
