AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TUNICA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE TUNICA COUNTY MUSEUM, INC., FOR THE PURPOSE OF OPERATING AND MAINTAINING A PUBLIC MUSEUM IN TUNICA COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Tunica County, Mississippi, may, in its discretion, contribute from any available county fund, an amount not to exceed an amount equal to the avails of one and one-half (1-1/2) mills during calendar year 2008, to the Tunica County Museum, Inc., a Mississippi not-for-profit corporation.

     The funds provided to the Tunica County Museum, Inc., pursuant to this section, shall be used for the operation and maintenance of a public museum in Tunica County, Mississippi, including, but not limited to, the acquisition of land, and operation and maintenance of a museum facility and related exhibits in such facility.

     This act shall stand repealed from and after December 31, 2011.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after June 1, 2007.
