AN ACT TO REQUIRE PHYSICIANS AND PSYCHIATRISTS WHO DIAGNOSE CHILDREN WITH ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER OR ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER TO REPORT THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SUCH DIAGNOSES IN CHILDREN TO THE RESPECTIVE SCHOOL DISTRICTS WHERE THE CHILDREN ATTEND SCHOOL; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Each physician or psychiatrist licensed in the State of Mississippi who diagnoses any children with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) shall report the total number of such diagnoses in children made by the physician or psychiatrist to the respective school districts where the children attend school.  The report must be made to the school districts before July 1 of each year for the twelve-month period beginning June 1 of the preceding year and ending the following May 31.

      SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2007.
