AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 51-3-39, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH REGULATES THE WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION REQUIRED BY THE PERMIT BOARD TO CONSTRUCT, ENLARGE, REPAIR, OR ALTER A DAM OR RESERVOIR AND THE AUTHORITY OF THE PERMIT BOARD AND THE COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY TO MAKE INSPECTIONS OF DAMS AND RESERVOIRS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 51-3-39, which regulates the written authorization required by the Permit Board authorized by Section 49-17-28, Mississippi Code of 1972, to construct, enlarge, repair, or alter a dam or reservoir and the authority of the Permit Board and the Commission on Environmental Quality to make inspections of dams and reservoirs, is repealed.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2007.
