AN ACT TO REQUIRE EMPLOYERS THAT RENT MOBILE HOMES TO THEIR EMPLOYEES TO MAINTAIN THE MOBILE HOMES IN ACCORDANCE WITH CERTAIN FEDERAL STANDARDS AND ANY STANDARDS SET FORTH BY THE MISSISSIPPI COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Employers that rent mobile homes, as defined in Section 75-49-3, to their employees and who agree to be responsible for the maintenance of such mobile homes shall maintain the homes in accordance with the Federal Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards (24 CFR Section 3280), established by the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development in accordance with the National Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards Act of 1974, as amended (42 USCS 5401 et seq.), such amendments to the standards as are adopted by the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development after July 1, 1992, and any standards set forth by the Mississippi Commissioner of Insurance.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2009.
