A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MRS. ZULA CRIDDLE WARNICK ON THE OCCASION OF HER 100TH BIRTHDAY.

     WHEREAS, Zula Criddle Warnick will be honored on her 100th birthday with a reception on Sunday, February 19, 2006, at Faith Bible Church; and

     WHEREAS, she was born February 16, 1906, in Chickasaw County to the late Emma Ella Smith and James Madison (Jim) Criddle; and

     WHEREAS, Zula had nine brothers, Brad, Joe, Vic, Frank, Jessie, Scott, Woodrow, Davis and John Shelton (Node), and one sister, Nollie; and

     WHEREAS, she worked for 2-1/2 years for Proctor & Gamble Ammunition Plant at Prairie, Mississippi, during World War II; 14-1/2 years at Rice Stixs Garment Industry; two years at Houston Elementary School tending the sick room; and was self-employed for 25 years attending senior citizens as a private sitter in the home, hospital and nursing home; and

     WHEREAS, she was married to the late Marshall John Warnick for 64 years, and they had one son, John Edward (Billy) Warnick, deceased; and

     WHEREAS, through the blessings of God, Mrs. Warnick has lived one century and is a priceless living history, and it is with great pride that we acknowledge the charitable service of this Mississippian on this auspicious event:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mrs. Zula Criddle Warnick on the occasion of her 100th birthday, and we wish her many more birthdays and continued success in her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Mrs. Warnick and her family and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
