A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND RECOGNIZING MR. BOB ANTHONY FOR HAVING SPILLWAY ROAD AND RIVER VIEW PARKWAY NAMED IN HIS HONOR.

     WHEREAS, on Friday, February 10, 2006, the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District's Board of Directors will dedicate Spillway Road and River View Parkway in Mr. Bob Anthony's honor, by renaming it The Bob Anthony Parkway; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Anthony has been a longtime and outstanding resident of Rankin County, Mississippi, who has willingly and unselfishly given of his time, experience and expertise to his community and fellow citizens; and

     WHEREAS, Bob Anthony has provided invaluable counsel and assistance to his community as a member of the Board of the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District and Rankin First Economic Development Authority, and as a member of the Board of the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District he was instrumental in procuring the monies necessary to construct the additional vehicle lanes across the dam of the Ross Barnett Reservoir; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Anthony is widely respected by many people for his leadership and contributions to his community and state, and for his vision which allowed him to see the needs of the future and to apply his efforts in a manner that most benefits his fellow citizens; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend this outstanding Mississippian, whose actions have brought great credit upon himself, Rankin County and the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Bob Anthony for having the Spillway Road and River View Parkway named in his honor, and we extend to him our sincerest appreciation for his service on behalf of his community and state and wish for him every success in his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be presented to Mr. Anthony, and made available to the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District's Board of Directors and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
