AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE AND EMPOWER THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF VICKSBURG, MISSISSIPPI, TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS TO HOUSE MUNICIPAL PRISONERS IN A CERTIFIED PRISON FACILITY LOCATED IN THE STATE OF LOUISIANA.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi, are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to enter into contracts with prison facilities in the adjoining parishes in the State of Louisiana that have been approved by the Louisiana Department of Corrections and meet the American Correctional Association Standards, for the housing of municipal prisoners, and to make contractual payments therefor from any available funds of the city.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
